Overview:
The Inspire Experience Manager leads and supervises the staff and volunteer team delivering inspireU's mission and core values through their consistent and playful approach to learning experiences, operations, and customer service. This role will be a member of the leadership team of the Children's Discovery Center, directly responsible for all visitor-facing roles within the museum. The Experience Manager should have a passion for families and children, visible enthusiasm for learning and play, customer service experience, and the ability to work with diverse types of people.
The Inspire Experience Manager will work with the Director and Inspire Education Coordinators to craft inspireU's standard operating procedures, staff training and philosophy of learning and working. This position will have a direct influence on how the discovery center operates, ensuring that the first ever staff cohort adheres to the discovery center's philosophy of learning and play and ensures that our programming meets our mission of promoting healthy behaviors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Public Health, Early Childhood, Arts (visual and/or performing) or Sciences is preferred, but not required.
2 years experience in retail, customer service or guest-facing roles is required. Must include experience working with ticketing and/or customer software/applications.
2 years supervisory experience including developing staff, performance management, and assigning work is required.
1 year experience delivering memorable science, arts, movement, or other learning experiences to children or adults is required.
Experience with program evaluation implementation and evaluation planning and design is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure that the discovery center provides a great visitor experience. Ensure high quality customer service and meaningful engagement for all visitors.
Act as point person for Ticketing and Scheduling System. Responsible for database quality control.
Act as daily operations supervisor on average 3 to 4 days a week. Ensure that all exhibits, activities, and programs are prepped and maintained for the day.
Act as the main point person for Memberships.
Supervise, coach, and develop all Floor Staff and PRN education staff.
Work with Director and Inspire Education Coordinator to build and deliver onboarding, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities for all floor staff.
Responsible for daily staffing calendar for all guest services, education staff, and volunteers in coordination with Education Coordinators.
Act as primary liaison and supervisor of all volunteers at inspireU Discovery Center Site.
Coordinate Gift Shop/Café inventory, display, and point of sale.
Responsible for ordering, cleaning and restocking of all exhibit props, loose parts, and materials.
Work with the Director and Inspire Education Coordinator to make sure that inspireU is hitting all of its educational, participation, and revenue goals.
Work with Floor Staff to clean and restock inspireU at the beginning/end of each day.
