Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Museum Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in educational programming or museum education, with a focus on early childhood education.
• Familiarity with Reggio Emilia philosophy and practices.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of staff, volunteers, and community partners.
• Experience with budget management and fundraising.
• Knowledge of current trends in museum education and child development.
• Passion for creating inspiring, hands-on learning experiences for children.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate engaging educational programs, exhibits, and workshops for children aged 0-8 years, in alignment with the museum’s educational goals.
• Supervise and manage a team of education staff and volunteers, providing training and support as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Visitor Services, etc.) to promote programs and ensure smooth operations.
• Create and maintain educational content that is inclusive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
• Build and maintain relationships with local schools, teachers, and community organizations to foster partnerships and outreach.
• Assist in the planning and execution of special events.
• Monitor program budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness in the execution of all educational initiatives.
• Assess program effectiveness through feedback, evaluations, and data collection, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Stay current on best practices in early childhood education, and museum education trends.
