The Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) remains committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all event participants and staff. While ACM cannot guarantee that attendees will not become infected with any illness, ACM has adopted preventative measures to reduce the potential spread of any illness in alignment with public health recommendations and local guidelines. In addition, ACM will comply with all applicable requirements imposed by federal, state, or local health authorities for the locality in which any event is taking place. However, the responsibility for a safe and healthy event environment is shared among the event organizers, event venues, and event attendees. To that end, we strongly encourage all attendees to perform a daily health assessment before attending any ACM function. If unwell, please isolate and seek medical assistance as needed. Further, all attendees are expected to also comply with all applicable requirements imposed by federal, state, or local health authorities for the locality in which an event is taking place. In addition to our code of conduct, attendees are expected to adhere to and abide by the safety precautions ACM implements to protect against the spread of any illness such as social distancing where applicable, mask wearing, personal hygiene and hand sanitization, self-monitoring, and self-reporting.
Specifically, you should not attend an event if you are experiencing symptoms associated with any contagious illness. In addition, please consider the infection risk to yourself and others before attending any ACM event. Please do not attend if you feel sick or are experiencing any new respiratory symptoms. If you recently had a respiratory illness, please wait until you have been fever-free and your symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours. Attendees should self-monitor for signs and symptoms of any contagious illness and are asked to contact ACM at Registration@ChildrensMuseums.org if they are feeling ill within 10 days after participating in any event. Any private health or personal data that may be received by ACM in connection with such measures and precautions will be treated as confidentially as possible.
Please follow guidance from your medical professionals and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and make informed decisions based upon your health, including taking additional health and safety precautions as necessary. If you or those around you have risk factors for a severe illness, or either currently have, were recently exposed to, or are recovering from a respiratory illness, please consider additional preventative strategies.
Please note that by checking the box when registering for InterActivity, you agree to adhere to the precautions and policies contained herein and acknowledge and understand that you are knowingly and freely assuming all risks related to illness and infectious diseases, by attending this event. Further, as with our Code of Conduct, you understand that refusal to adhere to these policies and abide by these precautions may result in immediate removal from the event and cancellation of the registration, without receiving a refund.
**All ACM policies, including those contained herein, are subject to change based on conditions at the time. Should changes be made, a notification will be sent to all registered attendees.
