Overview:    


KidsQuest Children's Museum is seeking a Field Trip and Outreach Coordinator to help us bring our playful, hands-on learning experiences to children, families, schools, and community partners. This role keeps the moving pieces connected: coordinating off-site programs, on-site museum reservations, managing multiple calendars, supporting grant-based field trips, and nurturing community partnerships. With strong customer service, organization, and time management skills, this role will successfully administer outreach events and field trips to feel welcoming and seamless for all involved. This position works with the Director of Education, and in partnership with our Visitor Services leadership, to ensure that KQCM’s educational philosophy is being upheld through engaging, process-oriented, and creative participant experiences. The Coordinator will bring enthusiasm for working with families and children to daily operations, stepping in to deliver museum programming and visitor services as needed.

Job Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Position Reports To: Director of Education & Exhibits

Pay Rate: $27-$30 per hour

Work Week: 38 hours per week, Tuesday–Saturday; Hybrid – 2-3 days in office; Days required in office will fluctuate based on the school year and summer break 


Qualifications:    


REQUIRED 


Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals including teens, children, parents, and people of all ages with special needs

Comfortable leading children birth to ten years old and adults in hands-on experiences, using a variety of materials

Experience navigating multiple calendars and schedules with initiative, creativity, and accuracy

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Platform

Detail oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and extremely reliable

Ability to maintain current driver’s license and transport yourself and supplies to off-site events

Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, work outdoors, move from ground to above shoulder, ascend/descend stairs, position self to bend, stoop, sit, push, and pull 


PREFERRED


Bachelor’s degree in education or experience equivalent in related field

Exposure to reservation systems

Experience educating children in classrooms or other informal learning environments

Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic demeanor 


Job Responsibilities:    


RESERVATION MANAGEMENT


Facilitate all aspects of program participation including sales, confirmations, bookings, correspondence, billing, and making executive decisions regarding exceptions and requests.

Communicate via phone, email, and in person in a timely and professional manner.

Using the organization’s master calendar, schedule up to five educators using three vehicles. Successfully account for resource availability in addition to allocating time for preparations, travel, and instruction for all outreach programming.

Communicate all outreach event bookings and arrangements with education staff

Assist with database maintenance, including accurate data entry and producing reports.

Manage registration for all onsite Field Trips. Enter museum Field Trips into booking software. Update website weekly with Field Trip Forecast. Coordinate with visitor services and front desk to ensure successful check-in for program participants. 


INSTRUCTION


Deliver (on-call and when needed basis) outreach and onsite programs utilizing our Field Trip curriculum including instructing classrooms, science fairs, libraries, and public events.

Facilitate activities at education and development events. 


VISITOR EXPERIENCE


Interact with visitors and react positively in a fast-paced environment.

Work alongside educators and visitor experience staff to keep spaces functional and inviting; fill in as visitor service Supervisor when needed.

Implementation of art, science, early learning, and other programs as needed including but not limited to leading field trips and museum gallery enhancement activities.

Model exceptional educational approaches and train visitor experience staff and volunteers.

Perform other related duties as assigned
