Overview:

The Sciencenter is searching for a creative and visionary leader with a strong commitment to building dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative education experiences that positively impact the local and national communities that the Sciencenter serves. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree related to education and/or science

• Minimum 3 years of experience building and leading teams

• Minimum 5 years of experience in educational program development and implementation in informal settings

• Equivalent experience/education will be considered 

Job Responsibilities:    

• Leadership

o Lead the Education team

o Coordinate project teams with both internal and external members

o Serve as an inspiring leader and active member of the Sciencenter’s management team

o Provide oversight and guidance for the museum’s STEM programs

o Effectively delegate responsibilities to empower team members and ensure successful project outcomes

• Strategic Vision

o Develop, articulate and implement strategic collaborative projects that advance the Sciencenter’s mission

o Act as a liaison between internal teams and external experts, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration

o Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning by introducing best practices from the field and providing professional development opportunities for the Sciencenter team

o Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with Cornell University, Ithaca College, and national research and museum partners
