Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and community focused Executive Director who is expected to lead a dynamic team, oversee strategic planning, and champion the mission of inspiring curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning in children through play. Zing Zumm is growing steadily with an increasing role as an anchor in our community. The Executive Director will work to strengthen the operational foundations and improve our community impact. This includes providing high-quality exhibits and programs, increasing our financial stability, increasing museum visitation and partnerships, and continuously identifying best practices to support effective internal operations.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation with a record of accomplishment in achieving fundraising goals and building sustainable revenue streams.
• Proven leadership experience in a museum, educational environment, business, or non-profit organization.
• Understanding of STEAM programs, principles, and practices with a passion for inspiring children’s curiosity and creativity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences including children, parents, educators, donors, and community leaders.
• Hands-on operations management experience, including policy and regulation compliance.
• Knowledgeable in donor and customer database management.
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a clear and compelling strategic vision for the museum, aligned with its missions and goals, while ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
• Provide effective leadership to the museum, ensuring efficient operations and an exceptional visitor experience.
• Lead fundraising efforts, grant applications, and donor cultivation to secure financial support for the museum’s programs, exhibits, events, camps, and capital projects.
• Serve as the public face of the museum cultivating relationships with local government, educational institutions, community organizations, and donors to build partnerships and enhance the museum’s impact.
• Oversee the development of innovative and engaging educational programs and exhibits that align with the museum’s mission and cater to diverse age groups and backgrounds.
• Budget development, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure the museum’s economic health and long-term sustainability.
• Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates, reporting, guidance and support in executing the museum’s strategic plan.
• Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement by ensuring smooth operational management of administration, human resources, program planning, and facilities.
• Implement marketing strategies to promote the museum and its programs ensuring maximum visibility and participation.
• Oversee the maintenance and improvement of the museum’s physical infrastructure, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for visitors.
• Maintain standardized reporting and evaluation measures based on identified objectives.
