Executive Director

The Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) is a nonprofit children’s museum located in historic downtown Evansville, Indiana. cMoe is a place where families and caregivers with young children are encouraged to create, explore, and discover together through play. The museum features three vibrant floors of exhibits and activities that provide sensory experiences and engaging educational content focusing on literacy, science, math, visual and performing arts, culture, and health.

At cMoe, our mission is to create extraordinary experiences that ignite the imaginations of children and families through the power of play. It is our vision to be a premiere educational resource and family destination that will inspire new generations of lifelong learners.

cMoe has been serving the Evansville community since 1990, when it was founded as Hands on Discovery by the Junior League of Evansville. In 2006, Hands on Discovery relocated to its current home in the historic former Central Library building and reopened as cMoe. Today the museum has a strong membership base, a diverse budget of over $1 million budget comprising over 50% earned income, and over 60,000 annual visitors. The museum is operated by a team of professional staff members and overseen by a board of directors consisting of 16 committed, energetic community leaders.

In the fall of 2023, cMoe announced the Play it Forward Campaign, a capital campaign that will fund the renovation and expansion of nearly 8,000 sq. ft. of exhibits, including a mobile museum and an outdoor exhibit. As of December 2023, the campaign has raised over $5.1 million of the $6.5 million goal.
