Gina M. Flores Stumpf Joins Team to Lead Business and Governance
Arlington, Va.—The Association of Children’s Museum (ACM), the world’s foremost professional society supporting and advocating on behalf of children’s museums, and those who work at and otherwise sustain them, is pleased to announce the organization’s first Chief of Staff: Gina M. Flores Stumpf, effective December 19, 2022.
As Chief of Staff, Ms. Flores Stumpf will support the functioning of core organization-wide business and governance functions, working closely with ACM’s Executive Director Arthur G. Affleck, III, and supporting the work of the Board of Directors, various Board committees, and all ACM staff. A new position to the ACM team, the Chief of Staff will support the association as it embarks on a new strategic plan.
“As a nonprofit leader, Gina has successfully created and implemented strategies to drive initiatives centered around community engagement and social impact,” shares Mr. Affleck, welcomingly. “Her adept background at coaching and managing a team enabling them to develop in their respective roles will support ACM to realize organizational success. We are pleased to have her on our growing team!”
Ms. Flores Stumpf’s many significant intercultural and museum experiences ignite her enthusiasm to influence all youth to have such encounters. A graduate of the University of Virginia where she made significant contributions to Latinx student groups, Gina also holds an MBA in nonprofit management and marketing from Yale. Her time managing corporate relations at UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza), and leading fundraising at the Smithsonian Latino Center, the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, and most recently SkillsUSA, provide a strong foundation of leadership skills and nonprofit management.
With experience in board engagement, collaborative planning, and budgeting, as well as implementing bold visions, Gina is passionate about advocating for and showcasing innovative experiential learning practices. Her personal philosophy of excellence, compassion, and fun will help as she engages with the ACM team and its volunteer leadership.
