The Hands On Children’s Museum is the leading non-profit, play-based early learning institution in Southwest Washington, located on Olympia’s East Bay waterfront. The Museum’s mission is to inspire curiosity, creativity and learning and our Inspired Learning for All Program ensures that all children and families have access to the Museum’s rich learning resources, regardless of their ability to pay.
This position works closely with the senior directors, development and events team to achieve the organization’s annual fundraising goals through events, sponsorships, grants and individual giving. This key position is responsible for daily development operations and admin support among the events, development, and communications teams. Also responsible for event support including silent auction procurement and management, and all aspects of event registration. The position coordinates the donor gift acknowledgement process, ensuring proper donor recognition and stewardship efforts throughout the year. They also schedule meetings and maintain communications with key audiences including the Museum’s board of director’s, donors and staff. The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism and discretion, excellent project management skills, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment in an organized and detail-oriented way
Requires 2-3 years previous non-profit development experience, experience using Altru, Razors Edge or similar donor database, strong analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to multi-task. Prior experience with events, corporate sponsorships and a college degree strongly desired.
