Must enjoy working with children and the public. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be flexible with work schedule including some weekends, holidays, and evenings. Ability to stand and walk around for extended periods. Ability to bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds. Well-qualified candidates must be energetic, flexible, resourceful, and possess an innovative approach in creating and presenting exciting programs for a broad audience with an emphasis on early childhood. An ideal candidate will have experience teaching multiple age groups and abilities with a focus on inquiry-based, experiential child-driven learning, and differentiation. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Education, Early Childhood or related field Experience working with children ages 0-8 in child care, classroom, or informal education settings Excellent verbal and written communication Strong time-management, motivational, and organizational skill
• Facilitate age-appropriate activities which engage children and parents/caregivers in the museum’s play and learning experience. • Greet groups and individuals arriving for field trips, tours, meetings, and events. Provide a brief orientation for field trip groups and lead activities for enhanced field trips. • Lead the scheduling and organizing of LaunchPAD visits to schools; be the lead presenter of STEM programming to these schools. • Model positive, educational, creative and respectful interactions with children and their caregivers. • Order, prepare, organize and maintain inventory of educational materials and classroom set-ups. • Participate in the development of educational content for children ages two through 3rd grade, including off-site and museum visits. • Complete and maintain documentation relative to the effectiveness of learning experiences presented. • Member of the team for evaluation of programs and activities. • Assist in developing and managing the schedule of programs. • Develop family program ideas and content. • Build relationships with area early learning educators and organizations to enhance early learning programming. • Other duties as directed by the education director or the executive director.
