$42,000 a year - Full-time

Museum Director responsible for strategy leadership and organizational development, member retention/renewal/recruitment, financial oversight, and fundraising working in concert with the Board, staff, and volunteers. This position requires a candidate that is motivated, organized, diplomatic, and has a passion for the mission of KidsWork Children’s Museum.

• 2-5 years of work experience in management, supervision or project management
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management
• Strong verbal and written communicator with strategic insight
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks
• Ability to recognize and vet opportunities as they arise and prioritize key strategic decisions as necessary
• Strong networking and interpersonal skills including self-motivation
• Successful experience in fundraising and comfort maintaining/cultivating high net worth donors

Financial Management/Fundraising
• Increase, strengthen, and diversify the organization’s funding sources
• Identify and apply for grant opportunities
• Execute fundraising campaigns and organize fundraisers
• Manage donor records, acknowledgments, and track trends
• Build base of donors , both corporate and individuals
• Establish rigorous accounting standards, policies, compliance, and transparency including working with accountant to budget and ensure accurate financial reporting (e.g., deposits, receipts, expenses, receipts, expenditures, etc.)
• Oversee retail shop (Mojo Market) managing inventory, purchases, turnover, event sales (e.g. Frankfort Fall Fest, Frankfort Country Market, Frankfort Bluegrass Festival, etc.).

Personnel Management and Board Involvement
• Work with the Board of Directors to develop policies, guidelines, and priorities around projects and programming including maintenance of museum/exhibits and acquisition of exhibits
• Guide the development and training of staff
• Participate in meetings with the Board of Directors and committees to gather input regarding work plans, strategy, financial management, and fundraising
• Organize monthly board meetings, write and distribute the agenda, and distribute reports

• Increase visibility and influence within the community including developing and delivering presentations to improve public awareness and gain support
• Oversee website maintenance and social media by building media contacts, provides interviews, and enforces PR Strategy
• Network with local organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, Frankfort Historical Business Association, etc.
