Knock Knock Children’s Museum is seeking a full-time Database Coordinator to maximize the efficiency of the organization’s databases, manage the administrative duties for the organizational database, and assist in the development of strategic initiatives through analyzing data. This position will report to the Director of Development and collaborate closely with the Operations Director and other staff members, serving Knock Knock as a central point person regarding the development and data integrity of the organization’s database systems.
The Database Coordinator should be organized, detail-oriented, personable, and passionate about Knock Knock’s important mission to be the community spark for engaging, playful learning experiences that inspire and support lifelong learning. In particular, Knock Knock’s responsibility to serve the increasing population of children in Louisiana’s Capital Area region who are growing up in under resourced environments.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working as a database coordinator or data manager; - 2+ years of experience using Blackbaud’s Raiser's Edge or similar database software for admissions, fund development; marketing, and financial tracking, reporting and analysis; - Technical experience in consolidating data from multiple sources; - Familiarity with QuickBooks, basic bookkeeping or financial management; - Familiarity with advance queries, and custom report design through Crystal Reports, SQL or other similar applications; - Excels within a strength-based culture and is excited to join a nimble and talented team; - Experience working with websites and other forms of electronic communications to reach audiences; - Innovative thinker with a positive attitude and creative problem solving skills; and - An ability to establish working relationships with Knock Knock leadership, staff, volunteers, and all constituent groups throughout the organization.
- Serves as the resident Altru Database expert and sustains and manages data accuracy and integrity throughout all of Knock Knock; - Troubleshoots and responds to data questions by staff; - Supervises and facilitates training of all Altru users to guarantee data accuracy and integrity is maintained throughout all users; - Creates database standard and best practice guide to ensure uniformity amongst users; - Works continually at improving database efficiency by initiating database clean-up efforts and streamlining data process; - Acts as the primary liaison between Knock Knock and our database provider, Blackbaud; - Manages all aspects of record keeping in the database for departments such as Development, Membership, Operations, and Volunteers. This includes but is not limited to data entry, gift and membership accounting (processing and receipting), and report generation. - Maintains accurate constituent records and analyzes data for daily operations, fundraising campaigns, special events, benchmark reports and trends; - Works with all database users to develop accurate, efficient processes to import and export information to and from the database relative to ticket and membership sales, program reservations, special event bookings, school service reservations, etc.; and - Available to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
