Nurturing a Lifelong Connection to Nature Begins in
"Our Backyard"

Long Island Children’s Museum created "Our Backyard" to teach children about solar heating, birding, the identification and role of insects and the “what” and “how to” of composting. The museum is a 2008 MetLife Foundation and ACM Promising Practice Award recipient and a demonstration site for nature education.

A Tool For Connecting Children and Families to Nature
ACM welcomes childen's museums and community organizations that work with children to download this resource and work together to create experiences that connect children and families to nature.

Miles and Banjo, hosts of PBS Sprout's "Let's Go Show," know there's no better place to play and discover how real things work than children's museums. Visit the
"Let's Go Show" Discoveries signpost to learn about wheels, paper, clouds and more from children's museum experts.

ACM is grateful to the following Major Supporters.
